All right, be careful now.... saying this in public will not make you popular in Holland...... If you look at Dutch scientifically and linguistically, it is quite easy to state that  Dutch is  like simplified German and like an outlandish form of ancient English!!!!    Therefore, if you speak English, Dutch should be easier than all the other languages!  And not only in theory! :)

Do not worry if this is not part of your every day reality yet.  As long as you believe that Dutch is difficult, you will find the evidence within 2 minutes! But then, once again, it is only a logical consequence of what you believe.  The irony is that most people stop too soon, when they are almost there. Literally they stop when they are only some thoughs away from their success.....
